Ostheimer Donkey Small

When we saw the "baby of the donkey family"online, we had to have it, but sadly wish we had purchased this one in person as the one we received has a very asymmetrical face (something not seen in our other 21 Ostheimer farm animals). I attached photos to illustrate what I'm describing. The baby donkey is cute, but in person, the face bothers me. Keeping in mind that these wood toys are made by hand, making no two exactly alike, it can be very beneficial to see them in person when making a purchase. This baby donkey measures 8.3 cm tall to the tip of the ears and 4.5 cm tall to the rump ... allowing it to pair nicely with the donkey from the Bremen Town Musicians set (though the colors are slightly different as seen in the attached photo). One last note regarding the asymmetrical face: our friends in Germany, who introduced us to Ostheimer, told us that the Ostheimer showroom sells "seconds" at reduced prices. While I don't necessarily think this baby donkey is defective, I will most likely make further purchases in person, rather than online.
